(Council Bluffs) Two people face numerous charges following a traffic stop in Fremont County.
According to the Fremont County Sheriff's Office, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 1996 Mercury Villager for a broken taillight near the intersection of 190th street and 355th Avenue in Fremont County. However, upon investigation, there was much more to the story than a broken taillight.
The driver, 34 year old Craig Duane Ellis of Council Bluffs, was found to have a warrant for his arrest in Nebraska for Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Ellis was placed under arrest by deputies, and during an inventory of the vehicle, several controlled substances were found alongside a loaded firearm. Ellis was placed under arrest for Driving While Suspended, No Insurance, Improper Rear Light, Possession of more than 5 Grams of Methamphetamine With Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled SUbstance with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Conspiracy, Possession of a Precursor, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possessing Contraband and Failure of Affix Drug Tax Stamp.
The passenger, 50-year-old Kelli Rachelle Gould, of Shenandoah, was also placed under arrest. She was arrested for Possession of more than 5 Grams of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, POssession of a Precursor and Conspiracy.
Ellis is being held on $131,548 cash-only bond and his Nebraska warrants. Gould is being held on $125,300 cash-only bond. More charges are pending.
