(Des Moines) Governor Terry Branstad began his weekly news conference this morning with a brief statement addressing the tragedy that struck a state lawmaker.
"Lieutenant Governor Reynolds and I wanted to begin this morning by offering our deepest condolences to state representative Mary Wolfe and her family following the death of her sisters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At this difficult time we'll keep the Wolfe family in our thoughts and in our prayers."
Press reports say that two sisters of Clinton Democrat Mary Wolfe were found shot to death in the basement of their Pittsburgh home Friday afternoon. No arrests have been reported.
