(Atlantic) An Atlantic resident is looking for volunteers to help feed the hungry in the community.
Shirley Claggett has been spearheading a “Community Dinner” on the first Wednesday of every month at the Catholic Parish Center. Claggett says they have been serving about 45-50 people on the first Wednesday of every month and she wants to expand the program to once a week. However she needs more help.
“I just need to find people to participate in this,” stated Claggett, who adds that a meeting is scheduled for Monday evening, February 10th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Catholic Parish Center.
“I am asking all these different organizations and churches to come together and discuss how we want to do this, and what is expected of them and go from there,” said Claggett. “We have an obligation to take of them and nobody should have to go hungry.”
