(Red Oak) A Red Oak man was arrested early this (Saturday) morning on warrant for felony eluding.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Johnathon Tyler McAlpin was taken into custody at around 12:15 a.m. and transported to the Montgomery County Corrections and booked in.
The charges stem from the January 21 incident that started in Cass County. A deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on McAlpin near Griswold. McAlpin took off and led law enforcement on a chase that ended in a farm field in Page County where he crashed his pickup. McAlpin and a passenger 22-year-old Alexandra Marie Sindt, of Griswold took off on foot, but later turned themselves into law enforcement because of the extreme cold conditions.
McAlpin originally faced charges in Montgomery County for 2nd degree Criminal Mischief and assault with a Deadly Weapon upon a Peace Officer for ramming a police cruiser. He also faces numerous charges in Page and Cass Counties in connection with the chase.
