(Atlantic) A Cass County man faces charges in connection with a robbery at the Casey’s East Store in Atlantic, late Wednesday night.
According to the Atlantic Police Department, 22-year-old Brady Thomas Salberg, of Atlantic entered the store and informed the cashier that he had a gun and demanded all of the money in the cash register.
Off duty D-C-I Agent, Shelby Mccreedy, noticed the incident unfolding and notified the people in the parking lot not to enter the store, and call 9-1-1. As the call was going out to local officers, the agent then entered the store with her firearm and confronted the robber while commanding him to the floor. Salberg complied and was lying on the ground at gunpoint when officers arrived moments later.
It was later discovered that the subject did not actually have a firearm in his possession, but had used his hand in his pocket to make it appear that he was armed.
Salberg was taken into custody by responding officers and taken to Cass County Jail where he was held on charges of 2nd degree robbery.
