(Des Moines) There are signs that the tight supply of propane is beginning to ease. Energy Analyst Harold Hommes says the price shot up in recent days, but has been fluctuating, and trending mostly lower.
“We have dropped from the five-dollar range for wholesale values to the mid-two’s,” Stated Hommes. “It did bump up a little bit, but we are still in the mid-$2.00 range for wholesale now.”
Hommes says it appears pipelines are getting caught up with demand, and the easing of regulations in Texas has helped a great deal.
He says currently there are at least 100-trucks on the road bringing more propane to Iowa.
