(Cedar Rapids) Cedar Rapids City Hall will mount a case with state officials to expand I-380 to six lanes from I-80 North to the southern edge of Cedar Rapids.
Mayor Ron Corbett says if they don't start pushing it will never get built. Corbett adds he knows it will be a while before the project becomes reality, but the region is in position for continued growth and traffic counts continue to go up. The D-O-T did a study a year ago that showed parts of 380 needed six lanes, and it would be more advantageous to add a lane in each direction of the inside of the current four lane roadway.
