(Glenwood) A Glenwood man has been charged with carrying weapons on school grounds.
The incident occurred on Friday at around 3:30 p.m. The Mills County Attorney’s Office says Douglas Trent Good was at West Elementary in Glenwood in the playground pick-up area when he accidentally shot himself in the leg.
The charge of carrying weapons on school grounds is a class “D” felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and/or a fine of $750 to $7,500. Good is set to appear before the court by summons on February 11th at 10:00 a.m.
The Mills County Attorney’s Office says no person, except on duty law enforcement, on duty military, on duty correctional officers, or person authorized by the school district may carry a firearm on school property.
