(State) Governor Terry Branstad says it's been about a month since he launched his "Home Base Iowa" effort to attract retiring soldiers to move to the state and enhance the Iowa workforce. And, Terry Branstad is reporting so far, so good.
"And as the word gets out, and we've had some great support and publicity from the veterans organizations and others thats helped get the information out and we are getting a really good response."
And, Governor Branstad announced today that the Iowa Business Council is setting the goal of hiring 2,500 Vets over the next five years. He says recruiting veterans to move to Iowa is the "Centerpiece" of his political agenda this year.
