(Des Moines) Riding your bike may not be the top thing on your mind today, but cyclists statewide are excited none-the-less with the announcement of the 2014 Ragbrai route.
The big bike ride will be heading back to small towns this year at fundraising dinners Saturday night at the Iowa Events Center. The Iowa bicycle coalition and Ragbrai officials announced this year’s 418 mile route, which will start for the first time in Rock Valley and wrap up in Guttenburg.
Along the way, cyclists and their parties will enjoy overnight stops in Okoboji, Emmetsburg, Forest City, Mason City, Waverly and Independence.
The state ride tracks across the northern portion of the state until July 26th.
