(Des Moines) The Chair of the Healthiest State Initiative was “kazooing” the value of good lifestyle choices up at the statehouse today.
Terry Rich is trying to spread the word about taking a couple steps to improve your health.
“One is just to eat more fruits and vegetables; when you go to the store, pick up a few extra pieces of fruit and a few extra fresh vegetables to have to munch on,” said Rich. “The second is just to walk. We’re talking 10 to 15 minutes, something to just get up and get out of the chair and get active.”
Rich and state officials are leading a brisk, 15-minute indoor walk at the statehouse today to demonstrate how easy it is to get some exercise even if the weather outside isn’t cooperating. Find out more at iowahealthieststate.com.
