(Des Moines) Another round of gusty winds and bitterly cold temperatures will sweep across the area this evening into tomorrow morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for all of southwest Iowa from 6:00 p.m. this evening until noon on Thursday.
Forecasters say wind chills will continue falling throughout the day with the coldest readings from midnight to shortly after daybreak Thursday.
Low temperatures will plummet to the single digits below zero tonight with brisk northwest winds. Wind Chill values will often be 15 below to 25 below zero by early this evening, likely reaching around 30- below into early Thursday morning.
This dangerous wind chills may result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia or death of precautions are not taken.
