(Atlantic) At least one person is in custody following high speed chase that started near Griswold and proceeded south through three counties Monday night. Cass County Sheriff Darby McLaren says the chase ended with a pretty extensive manhunt in Page County. According to scanner traffic the suspect led deputies on a chase that reached speeds of 105 miles per hour.
Cass County Sheriff Darby McLaren says the chase went through Cass, Montgomery, and Page Counties and last for about four hours. McLaren says the chase ended with a pretty extensive manhunt after the occupants of Chevy pickup with dealer license plates, ran from the vehicle. McLaren says it appears the driver and a passenger gave themselves up to authorities because of the extreme cold. McLaren says there were several Patrol cars that were rammed and some that sustained extensive damage.
The driver is currently being held in Page County and will be transported to Cass County where he will face further charges.
