(Omaha) A Des Moines man was killed and a Council Bluffs woman was injured in a two vehicle accident in Omaha this (Monday) morning.
KETV Newswatch 7 says the accident occurred on Interstate 80 near 36th Street at around 6:00 a.m. 38-year-old Brian Pete, of Des Moines, was driving a 1996 Buick Regal and parked on the painted median of westbound I-80 at the merge of I-480 south. A 2007 Honda Pilot, driven by 26-year-old Sarah Barker, of Council Bluffs, was westbound on I-80 and changed lanes over the painted median and collided with the rear end of Pete’s Buick.
Barker was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Pete was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
