(State) Two members of the Iowa Republican Party's Governing Board are resigning...to try their hand as candidates. Monte Shaw told supporters Wednesday he's resigning his seat on the Republican Party of Iowa's State Central Committee so that he can run for the G-O-P nomination in the Third Congressional District. Shaw says he thinks he can do the most good in Congress...So he joins three others in that primary battle. Meanwhile, the co-chair of the State Central Committee, David Fischer, resigned his position Wednesday as well. Fischer wants to be the G-O-P candidate for the district 15 Iowa Senate seat now held by Democrat Dennis Black. No word from party officials when their replacements will be picked.
