(Des Moines) A cold front associated with a clipper system is dropping through the state this morning. Strong and gusty northwest winds are spreading across the region and will continue through the rest of today.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory until 6:00 p.m. this evening for all of western Iowa. Northwest winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour will occur throughout the day and are expected to diminish at around 3:00 p.m.
Forecasters say loose objects will be blown away by the strong winds. In addition small tree branches may break.
