(Des Moines) Iowa Democrats seem to be coming out swinging in 2014. Scott Brennan, Iowa Democratic Party Chair, will tour the state Thursday as part of an awareness campaign for the party’s January 21st Caucus. He says a starting point for the State’s Democrats in 2014 will be women’s rights.
“Obviously one of the issues is that Governor Branstad appointed people to the State Board of Medicine who took a very inappropriate view in regard to telemedicine and those are the consequences of electing people like Terry Branstad,” said Brennan. “We need to come and talk about those issues and be prepared to have a better Governor in 2014.”
Brennan kicks off the “Caucus Awareness” event in Des Moines at the State Capitol, Room 116, at 9:00 a.m. Other stops are planned for Waterloo at the Blackhawk County Party Office at 12:15, followed by a stop at Cedar Rapids Public Library at 2:30.
