(Glenwood) Two people were injured in an accident in Mills County Thursday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says 66-year-old William Porter Rickabaugh Jr. of Malvern was transported to Creighton Hospital by Glenwood Rescue following the accident that occurred at around 5:39 p.m. on Highway 275. 57-year-old Lee Allen Mosier of Imogene was checked out on the scene for injuries, but was not transported.
According to the report, Mosier was driving a 2001 Ford F350 truck south on Highway 275 near the 25 mile marker when he noticed headlights facing him on the west shoulder. Mosier stated that he believed the vehicle was pulling out into his lane, so he took the west shoulder. Mosier collided with the 2000 Volvo S80, driven by Rickabaugh, who was pulled off on the west shoulder facing the wrong way getting mail out of a mail box. Both vehicles came to rest on the west shoulder.
