(State) Another poll released this morning shows the lowest job approval ratings for the president ever in Iowa… and one of the lowest scores given to Barack Obama in any state. Peter Brown of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute says that’s not what Democrats want to hear heading into an election year.
“If the president’s job approval numbers are where they are today on election day 2014 it would be reasonable to assume that Democratic candidates across the board would feel a down draft.”
But, in better news for Democrats, today’s Quinnipiac poll also shows congress man Bruce Braley beating Republican Matt Whitaker 43-to-40% in the race to replace retiring Senator Tom Harkin. Braley does even better against the five other G-O-P candidates in the race.
