(Atlantic) Joel Dirks, Director of West Central Community Action, gave his annual report and request for funding to the Cass County Board of Supervisors this morning.
West Central Community Action is requesting $3,500, the same amount that was requested last year. The funds from the Supervisors would be used to provide local match support required by some of their Federal programs, funding for programs that provide financial assistance for their clients but provide no means of paying program delivery costs or administrative costs, and assist in supporting their efforts to maintain safe and affordable office space for their local outreach centers.
West Central Community Action provided $1,744,572 worth of services to Cass County residents in FY 2013. Some of the programs that WCCA provides to clients is Head Start, Child Care Resource and Referral, Early Childhood Iowa, Child and Adult Care Food Program, Weatherization, Low Income Energy Assistance, I Care, Black Hills Cares, Black Hills-IWF, and Alliant Hometown Cares Assistance, Senior Employment Program, Family Development and Self Sufficiency, and Women, Infants and Children.
