(Washington) There are a number of opinions concerning whether the Federal Government should require an increase in the minimum wage.
Iowa Senator Tom Harkin favors it and is pushing a bill to increase it to $10 an hour over three years.
“Let’s find our policies to be a little bit more considerate, a little bit more compassionate and a little bit more understanding of some of the real tough lives people have in our society,” stated Harkin.
Harkin said on the Senate floor Tuesday, the proposal would provide minimum wage workers another six-to-seven thousand dollars a year in spendable income once the full increase is introduced allowing more people to actually be able to make ends meet.
