(Atlantic) The Nishna Valley Family YMCA in Atlantic recently received twenty-seven new pieces of cardio equipment and will be hosting a training day this Wednesday, December 18th from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Dan Hayes, Executive Director of the Nishna Valley Family YMCA says the trainer that appears on the new treadmill screens will be at the “Y” in person to show people how to get the best use out of the equipment.
“And she will be up on the fitness floor helping people learn how to use the treadmills, ellipticals ect,” stated Haynes. “She will do one-on-ones with those that want to learn how to use the things and how to use her services that are embedded in the screens. She will also run you through the different types of programs. So it will be an exciting time for people wanting to learn how to use it.”
Haynes says, “The one thing that is noticeable about the new Treadmills and Ellipticals is that they all have embedded TV’s in them,” said Haynes. “So you don’t have to watch the TV up on the wall anymore, you can plug in your headset to the machine and watch the channel you want to watch. You can also hook your I-Pad right into the TV and to listen to it while you are working out.”
Haynes says they trade out their cardio equipment every four-to-five years. The new equipment includes; Treadmills, Elliptical, upright bikes, Recumbent Bikes, new step, machines, stair climbers, all kinds of equipment that anybody can use.
