(Des Moines) Iowa’s elected officials have joined together to invite President Obama, E-P-A Administrator and U-S-D-A’s Tom Vilsack to hear comments from Iowans on the proposed E-P-A reduction in the R-F-S standard.
Bill Northey, Iowa’s Agriculture Secretary says it’s about maximizing the 60-day comment period for Iowans.
“Iowa is going to be dramatically impacted more than any other state and it is important for Iowan’s to let their feelings be known to those making that decision and make sure they understand the impact,” stated Northey.
The E-P-A has proposed reductions for the renewable fuels industry, which confuses many insiders who thought the E-P-A was supportive of the use of alternative fuels. The deadline for public comment on the new R-F-S is January 28.
