(Menlo) A Des Moines woman was injured and four other juveniles suffered possible injuries in a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Guthrie County.
The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at around 1:58 a.m. north of the intersection of White Pole Road and Ranch Trail.
Authorities say 18-year-old Carly Dycus, of Des Moines, was driving northbound on Redwood Avenue in a 2008 Toyota at a high rate of speed. The vehicle failed to obey the stop sign and ramped over the intersection. It continued north on Ranch Trail and went of control and entered the east ditch of Ranch Trail Road. The rear of the vehicle impacted an embankment causing it to roll 1 and ½ times.
Dycus and a juvenile passenger were transported by ambulance to Mercy hospital in Des Moines. Three other juvenile passengers refused treatment.
Dycus was charged with First Offense OWI, Failure to Obey a Stop Sign, and Failure to Maintain Control.
