(State) Head of the Iowa Department of Education says schools are starting to implement the latest efforts on “Education Reform.” Director Brad Buck says schools are starting to frame education in terms of how it will effect a student’s future..
“They talk about careers all the time…so when you are learning about math that would be important if you ever choose to become this so they are working hard.”
…and, Director Buck says he just visited a Waterloo high school that created three tracks to better serve different needs of their student body.
…He says it’s “A Far Cry” from how he taught when he student-instructed at the same school twenty years ago.
