(Villisca) A Montgomery County farmer was named farmer of the year by Easter Seals Iowa, a group that works to ensure that people with disabilities and special needs have equal opportunities.
According to the Omaha World Herald, 50-year-old Russell Boseck, of Villisca, was honored on November 19, during the group’s annual meeting at Camp Sunnyside in Des Moines. Russell Boseck, who has farmed for 20-years, uses a wheel chair. He took over his father’s operation about six years ago.
Boseck started a bottle calf program for day old calves. He cares for about 200 calves each day.
