Gamblers in New Jersey will now be able to cast their bets online. Allowing this, the state expects to see a stagnant casino industry come to life again. In Iowa, two years ago, the Racing and Gaming Commission was charged with conducting a study regarding the regulation of interstate online poker.
“The following year, I think, a bill was brought forward but it did not pass and so I think Iowa, at least at this point, from the regulatory perspective we’re observing other jurisdictions and just monitoring how the online gaming is working in the event policy makers decided to move forward,” stated Brian Ohorilko, Administrator of the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission.
Ohorilko said, for now, Iowa, like many other states, will observe how it goes in New Jersey.
