NEBRASKA MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING CHASE IN MONONA COUNTY
(BLENCOE) A Nebraska man faces charges following a high speed chase in Monona County.
The Iowa State Patrol says 21-year-old Bee Vang of South Sioux City, Nebraska faces charges of speeding, reckless driving, and failure to use headlamps. The report says at around 1:40 a.m. Vang’s speed was clocked at 93 mph in a 70 mph zone on I-29 near mile marker 102. Vang exited I-29 at exit 105 and turned off his lights at the top of the off-ramp where he continued toward Blencoe. The trooper pursing Vang lost contact with Vang’s vehicle and attempted to locate it around Blencoe. The vehicle was located east of K45. Vang had continued east onto Main Street in Blencoe where he lost control and left the roadway and drove through several yards before striking a parked vehicle and then a tree. Both vehicles were totaled and a residence was damaged by flying debris.
Vang was transported to Burgess Hospital in Onawa and was later released with a broken nose. He was then arrested and taken to the Monona County Jail.
