IOWA RURAL TELEPHONE COMPANIES CRITICAL OF WASHINGTON NATIONAL BROADBAND PLAN
(Des Moines) Iowa’s rural telephone companies were joining forces Wednesday to criticize Washington’s “National Broadband Plan”. Tom Conry, of Farmer’s Mutual Telephone and the Iowa Telecommunications company coalition, describes it as the “Great Disconnect”.
“The FCC is making a lot of changes and the National Broadband plan along with proposed rules are contemplating moving revenues away from us those who have built and those continue to build to make those connections that are important for us going forward,” said Conry.
Conry claims the federal plan is prevalent with “flawed logic that doesn’t make economic sense”. Find out more at www.thegreatdisconnect.org.
