ATLANTIC CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS WASTEWATER FEES
(ATLANTIC) The Atlantic City Council will discuss the first reading of Ordinance #932 amending wastewater fee schedule at their meeting Wednesday night.
Fox Engineering did a sewer rate study in 2008 and determined that a series of rate increases would be necessary to pay for the new $15 million wastewater treatment plant. The recommended base sewer rate would be increased from $24 per month to $27, and the usage charge for water used in excess of 3,000 gallons per month would be increased from $5 per 1000 gallons to $5.50 per 1,000 gallons. This reflects an overall 11.5% increase for the average user. According to agenda details, this is significantly less than the two 18% scheduled increases for FY 12 and FY 13.
Other items on the agenda include approving the final plat for the Jallas Subdivision, an order to refer proposed landscaping plan for Boulder’s Inn & Suites and requested changes to the Development Agreement to the Community Development Committee for review and recommendation, approval of the selection of an engineering firm to design and provide cost estimates for the T-Bone Trail project, the second and third reading of the RAGBRAI ordinance, and a resolution establishing Council committees.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Atlantic City Council Chambers.
