ARMED FORCES COMMEMORATIVE DAYS SET FOR THIS WEEK
(Atlantic) April 21, 22, and 23 is the Armed Forces Commemorative Days at the Old Armory in Atlantic.
Steve Livengood, retired service member chairs the event that will attract some 500-students that will go through the display of war memorabilia on Thursday. “Our slogan is uniting students and veterans since 1994, and that is what this is all about,” said Livengood.
Al Cranston retired U.S. Navy Veteran says there will be memorabilia from WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War to the current conflicts in the Middle East. “This is a great opportunity for our young people and adults to see the items on display and talk to those veterans of war behind the displays.”
The public is encouraged bring in memorabilia from either a veteran or a family member of one. Officials want all the memorabilia brought into the "Old Armory," Wednesday, April 20.
The show is open to the public 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
