GAS MAIN LEAK IN ELK HORN WEDNESDAY NIGHT
(ELK HORN) Several residents were evacuated during a gas main leak in Elk Horn Wednesday night.
The Elk Horn Fire Department says members of King Construction were in the process of finishing up work for the day and accidently hit a 2 inch gas main with approximately 50 pounds of pressure. At around 8:16 p.m. members of the Elk Horn Fire Department along with Shelby and Audubon county deputies were called to assist with traffic and evacuation of six residences in the surrounding two block area. Mid America Gas was called in to stop the flow of escaping gas and repair the ruptured line. Repairs were made and the residents were able to return to their homes at around 11:00 p.m.
The Elk Horn Fire Department would like to thank all of the residents, deputies, and members of Mid America for their fast response to repair the damaged line.
