FATAL FIRE IN COIN UNDER INVESTIGATION
(COIN) One person was found dead in a house fire in Coin Tuesday.
The state Fire Marshal’s office said the fire occurred at 303 6th Street where a two story home and two parked vehicles were fully involved in the fire. The home is owned by 56-year-old Trudy McDowell.
The investigation of the fire scene by Coin and Shenandoah fire personnel revealed one deceased person inside the home. A positive identification has not been established and the body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny for an autopsy to determine positive identification and cause of death.
The cause of the fire is currently listed as undetermined and the case is being investigated by the Page County Sheriff’s Office, State Fire Marshal’s Office and the State Medical Examiner.
