SUPERVISORS APPROVES WATER AND SEWER PROJECT
(ATLANTIC) The Cass County Board of Supervisors gave their approval to proceed with the northwest water and sanitary sewer extension project at their meeting this morning. The project would extend services to the Amaizing Energy urban renewal area.
Cass/Atlantic Development Corporation Director Russell Joyce told the board this morning that CADCO owns 50 acres of land outside of the city limits and he believes this would be a great project because if they get any prospects in the area, everything will be ready to go.
“Anytime we get a request or a proposal from a company that would like to locate somewhere here is Iowa, or even in western Iowa, they have sewer and water needs and so if we want to expand our businesses here in our community we’ll need the infrastructure and a place to do that,” said Joyce.
Tim Tieg of Snyder and Associates said Atlantic Municipal Utilities will be the contracting officer for the project. A bid date has been tentatively set for May 13th. The awarding of the bid will be contingent on board approval.
