EHK TEACHERS OFFERED A RAISE
(Elk Horn) Elk Horn-Kimballton Schools Superintendent Dean Schnoes is offering the teachers a 2.7-percent package increase.
“The board is in full support of it,” stated Schnoes. “With no new money coming in and everything going on with the economy, I think everybody is pretty happy we can handle it.” Schnoes says the deal is now up to the teachers.
In the meantime, Schnoes says the budget is set and the tax rate per thousand dollars of valuation is pretty close to last year, with a 2-hundreds of a point increase. That takes into account an increase in cash reserves in case of an unexpected expense.
