REGION 4 PREPAREDNESS CLASS AND CONFERENCE APRIL 12TH & 13TH
(ATLANTIC) A Region 4 Preparedness Incident Command System/Emergency Operations Center Interface class will be held on April 12th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cass County Community Center.
The course is designed to enable participants to develop ICS/EOC interface implementation strategies, or actions plans, for their communities. The target audience includes; incident command team members, hospital preparedness coordinators, public health preparedness coordinators, hospital administrators, public health administrators, community health center emergency preparedness coordinators, community health center administrators, emergency management coordinators, law enforcement, fire service, and emergency medical service providers.
Cass County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Kennon said following the class, a conference will be held on April 13th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“You can kind of choose what you’re interested in, so if you’re interested in the Von Maur shooting or seeing the 71st Civil Support Team stuff, you can see that in the morning and go on your way,” said Kennon. “In the afternoon they’re going to talk about sheltering during emergencies and awareness of emergency preparedness.”
Both events will fulfill the 2010-2011 HPP & PHEP grant required six hours of required education. The events are open to the public at no charge. Lunch will be provided. To register for the conference visit www.tinyurl.com/R4Conference.
