(Des Moines) The National Weather is calling for scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening in southwest and central Iowa.
Forecasters say a few storms could produce hail and strong winds but the overall severe weather threat is low.
After that the next chance for rain returns Sunday with a possibility of showers and thunderstorms occurring through the middle of next week.
The best chance is between Monday night and Wednesday morning. Widespread severe weather is not anticipated.
