POLICE INVESTIGATE ATTEMPTED BURGLARY
(Council Bluffs) Council Bluffs Police are looking for a suspect in connection with an attempted burglary.
According to the press release, the attempted burglary occurred at around 10:25 p.m. at 3235 Avenue G in Council Bluffs. Nearly 30-minutes later 911 broadcast that shots had been fired at the same address. When officers arrived they discovered the victim, 31-year-old Jamey M. Kirk, of Council Bluffs had been shot in the arm with a large caliber handgun.
The suspect fled before officers arrived leaving a vehicle behind. He is described as a black male 18-to-24-years old wearing dark clothing, a dark hoodie with white or silver design, with average weight and height.
The victim Jamey Kirk was transported to Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was later released.
The incident remains under investigation.
