(Atlantic) Brady Runyan (top picture) exhibited the Grand Champion Supreme Market Hog at the Cass County Fair Sunday afternoon. Runyan, a member of the C & M Champions 4-H club, won the overall event for the second year in a row. And what is more impressive, Runyan’s brother Tanner exhibited the Supreme Grand Champion market hog the two previous years.
Brady Runyan’s barrow weighed 269-pounds and gained 1.6 pounds per day.
“He showed well today,” stated Runyan. “He walked just the way I wanted him to; he just looked great out there.” That trophy came after Runyan’s 4-H pen of three won Grand Champion earlier in the day.
It was also a good day for 10-year-old Craig Allen Becker. His pen of three 4-H market hogs placed second overall, and his individual market pig finished as the Reserve Grand Champion Supreme Individual.
“I had a lot of fun showing today. It’s like a game, you have to look at the judge and show your pig at the same time,” explained Becker. (bottom picture)
We will have complete results of the Cass County Fair Swine Show tomorrow morning.
The Cass County Fair continues through Tuesday. Monday, the 4-H and FFA Beef Show starts at 8:00 a.m., and the Grand Champion Beef selection show begins at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening.
