MASSENA CITY COUNCIL TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON RV’S
(Massena) The Massena City Council will address an ordinance regulating Recreational Vehicles at a special meeting tonight at 7:00 o’clock at the Massena City Hall.
MidAmerican Energy and Siemens Energy plan to erect over 250-wind turbines across the landscapes in Cass, Adams, Marshall, Calhoun and Adair Counties this year. The wind turbines are expected to go up on farmland just south of Massena.
The Council wants to hear the public’s opinion on whether or not to regulate these RV’S that are expected in the area during construction. Mike Cormack told the Atlantic News Telegraph that the city code is “vague,” regarding the long-term use of RV’S on city property. Cormack says the city can do nothing, ban them, or allow them with certain rules.
According to the agenda, the public hearing will be held from 7:00 to 7:15 p.m., followed by the first reading of Ordinance 2011-04: RV Regulation.
