(Shenandoah) Area Law Enforcement agencies went on a manhunt Wednesday night for a person involved in an assault at a residence near Shenandoah.
Page County Sheriff Lyle Palmer says deputies were called to 1672 A Avenue, approximately 1.5 miles north of Shenandoah at around 10:00 p.m. for an alleged disturbance at the Valerie Kay Kalkas and David Ryan residence. According to the report the altercation was between Kalkas, Ryan, and another family member. When Law Enforcement arrived, they learned that the other family member assaulted Ryan and Kalkas and then left the scene on foot south from the residence on A Avenue towards Shenandoah.
Law Enforcement conducted an extensive search that continued to locations within the city limits of Shenandoah. But he did not find the individual in question.
The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released when it is available.
The Page County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the search with personnel or equipment from the Shenandoah Police Department, Red Oak Police Department, Omaha Police Department with their helicopter unit, Clarinda Police Department, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Fremont County Sheriff’s, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and the Shenandoah Fire Department.
