Anyone traveling along Interstate 80 from New Jersey to California can expect to see a lot of State Troopers in the next few days. Iowa Governor, Terry Branstad, kicked off the “I-80 Challenge” Wednesday in Des Moines. Branstad says the Troopers will be out in force checking for speeders, drunk drivers, seat belt usage, and distracted driving; with the goal of reducing highway fatalities.
“By working together with other states, we can make a difference as we work towards this very important, common goal,” expresses Branstad.
The crackdown is a part of the federal government’s “More Cops, More Stops” program.
