CHARGES DISMISSED AGAINST CLARINDA SCHOOL TEACHER DISMISSED
(Clarinda) Criminal charges have been dropped against a former Clarinda schoolteacher.
The Omaha World Herald says an investigation began last July when it was alleged Reed may have had an inappropriate relationship with a student. Reed resigned last July. The investigation was completed on Thursday.
Page County Attorney Jeremy Petersen says a criminal prosecution would have required proving beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime occurred.
Petersen told the World Herald that after reviewing the case, the facts indicate that Reed did not violate the law, and there was not enough evidence to file a criminal charge.
Reed currently resides in Florida.
