(ATLANTIC) There is some positive news in the housing market.
Peggy Larsen, Broker/Owner of Century 21 Dement Realty, said there is a slight increase in the number of homes available in the Atlantic area.
“Right now there are like 42, plus or minus, and it was down in the 30’s a month ago. In Cass County, we’re at around 63 which was just a little bit lower than that last month too,” said Larsen.
Larsen said one reason many people are buying is because they can get a house cheaper than what they could rent for. And, she said the low interest rates are also a positive.
“They are so low yet, they’re good,” said Larsen. “I’ve been in the business for 35 years and I’ve seen the 15 and 16 percent. So, when you get around 5 percent, give or take, they’re still excellent and very affordable for most of the people out there.”
Larsen said there is also an increase in the number of properties available for lease.
