OSCAR MAYER GOOD MOOD MISSION RECOGNIZES ATLANTIC TEEN
(ATLANTIC) An Atlantic freshman was recognized by representatives with the Oscar Mayer Good Mood Mission today (Wednesday) for her pledge to do at least one good deed each day for the entire year.
Hot Dogger Sam Fromkin said the Good Mood Mission kicked off in January and when they heard about Maren McNees’ story they wanted to be a part of it because she is doing what they are doing, spreading good moods.
“From her just daily opening up a door for someone, or going down to the local shelter or cleaning out an attic, it’s been stuff that we’ve been involved with, so we wanted to come here today and surprise her with the wiener mobile, which I think we did, she seemed very excited when we got here, and take her around town and do some good deeds, let her choose what we do, and go around and do it with the wiener mobile,” said Fromkin.
Maren McNees said the idea to do at least one good deed each day came to her while watching TV one night.
“I just saw it on TV one day; someone said something along the lines of I’m going to do a good deed for someone at least once a week, and I decided that every day would be much more interesting and a challenge,” said McNees.
An Oscar Mayer hot dog lunch is being held at Cass Incorporated today and Oscar Mayer is donating $5,000 to Cass Inc. to help build their inspiration garden. After lunch the Hot Doggers will continue taking Maren around the area in the Oscar Mayer wiener mobile to help her do some good deeds.
