(Marne) A semi accident in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 slowed traffic to a snails pace late Thursday afternoon in Cass County.
The Iowa State Patrol says two 2009 Acterra truck’s were parked on the westbound shoulder near the 55-mile marker at around 3:30 p.m. The first vehicle was disabled and the second semi was parked right behind it. A third westbound 2013 Freightliner pulling two Fed Ex Trailers, driven by 58-year-old Steven Stojanovic, of Rockford, Illinois lost control and struck the two parked semi’s. The collision forced the freightliner to cross both westbound lanes and enter the median and tip over onto its’ right side in the eastbound lane. The front trailer ended up on its’ top in the median and the rear trailer came to rest in the median on its side.
