(Crescent) Four people were injured in a three car accident on Interstate 29 near Crescent at around 1:38 this morning.
The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office says Christopher and Joann Zimmerman, Jonathan Garringer, and an infant identified as Annabella Macvitee were injured in the accident that happened near the 62-mile marker. All four were transported by Crescent Rescue to Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs. Joann Zimmerman is from South Sioux City, Nebraska, and Christopher Zimmerman and Jonathan Garringer are both from Omaha.
According to the accident report, Christopher Zimmerman’s 2000 Chrysler was parked on the right shoulder of the Interstate facing south. A tow truck was parked in front of the stalled vehicle. Zimmerman and the tow truck driver Jonathan Garringer were standing between the two vehicles when the Chrysler was rear ended by a Chevy pickup driven by Paul Trudeau, of Raymond Missouri. The collision forced Zimmerman’s car to crash into the tow truck injuring Christopher Zimmerman, Garringer and Joanne Zimmerman who was partially seated in the backseat of the Chrysler.
Christina Baer and her infant daughter Annabella Macvitte were both outside the car when the accident occurred. Macvite was transported by Crescent Rescue to Mercy Hospital.
