WALLACE FOUNDATION 20TH ANNUAL MEETING
(LEWIS) The 20th annual meeting of the Wallace Foundation for Rural Research and Development will be held Friday, April 1st at the Learning Center located at the Armstrong Research Farm near Lewis.
Keith Booth, Director of the Wallace Foundation, said this year’s program will begin at 10 a.m. with presentations by Iowa State University personnel John Lawrence, Associate Dean of Extension, and Mark Honeyman, Research Farm Coordinator.
“This is a follow up to last year’s annual meeting when John Lawrence was here trying to help define the role of the Wallace Foundation with the changing times we have with the Extension and Research Farms,” said Booth.
Booth said the program will also feature Ag Specialist Josh Sievers and Field Agronomist Joel DeJong from northwest Iowa.
“These guys do on the farm research in northwest Iowa and we’re looking at incorporating that into the Armstrong Farm where we will have both research on the farm and also off the farm with local producers,” said Booth.
A complimentary lunch will be provided at no cost. The public is invited to attend. The annual business meeting will be held at 12:45 p.m. with further discussion on the morning’s program.
