(Pleasant Hill) The Omaha World Herald says authorities are investigating a rollover crash that killed the driver and injured seven passengers in a minivan that was traveling across Iowa.
The Polk County Sheriff’s office says the crash happened on Highway 65 near Pleasant Hill Saturday afternoon. According to the report a rear tire blew out on the minivan causing it to cross the median and enter the southbound lanes. The vehicle came to rest upside down after it had rolled. There were three adults and five juveniles in the vehicle.
Authorities say 49-year-old Simon Kumeso Makanda, of Jefferson City, Missouri was killed in the crash. The injured passengers were taken to various hospitals.
