(OMAHA) A man wanted for stealing a vehicle and hitting a Council Bluffs Police officer was arrested in Omaha Thursday.
Twenty four year old Andrew Brown was arrested in Omaha following a pursuit. Brown was arrested on warrants from the Council Bluffs Police Department for Attempted Murder, Assault on a Peace Officer and 1st Degree Theft.
At around 11:00 p.m. on June 25th, four officers with the Council Bluffs Police Department were attempting to deploy stop sticks near the intersection of North Broadway and Coit Road. Deputies with the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office were in pursuit of a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 183. The Sheriff’s Department terminated their pursuit and Council Bluffs Officers were in the process of retrieving their stop sticks when they observed the run vehicle traveling toward them at a high rate of speed. The driver of the vehicle swerved around the stop sticks and toward two Council Bluffs officers, forcing them to dive out of the way. One of the Officers, 40 year old Troy McIntosh, was struck in the right hip by the passenger side front bumper of the suspect vehicle. The force of the collision threw Officer McIntosh into a utility pole. He was treated at a local hospital for bruises and abrasions and was released a short time later. After striking Officer McIntosh, the suspect vehicle fled westbound onto Coit Road. Officers located the vehicle abandoned in the 1800 block of Grand Avenue. The vehicle had been reported stolen from a gas station in Omaha earlier in the evening.
